Frequently Asked Questions
What age is camp for?
Kids ages 8–13. The camp curriculum is designed for students in 4th–7th grade. We do accept some 7-year-olds if they are ready.
If your child is slightly above or below this age range but you feel like it could be a good fit, it probably is. Just reach out and we’re happy to talk it through
What is the staff to child ratio?
1 camp leader and 1 assistant per 10 children.
Each staff leader is an adult who has experieince working with children. Staff assistants may be teens or young adults who have been trained and work to assist the lead.
What will they be doing?
Throughout the program, your child will:
• Develop and refine a business idea
• Build a simple brand and plan
• Create real business assets
• Learn foundational pricing and profit skills
• Strengthen leadership and collaboration
• Launch their idea in our mock marketplace
What is the marketplace?
The mock marketplace is way to showcase their work.
It’s a fun, low-pressure showcase where kids practice business skills using pretend money. No real money is exchanged, and there are no winners or rankings. Kids set up a simple booth with signage and prototypes to share their ideas.
Can people attend the marketplace?
Yes, we welcome friends and family to come participate.
This is a fun way to include our community members who may not be ready or able to attend the whole camp.
How many kids will be in each camp?
Camp groups are kept to around 10 kids, so there's opportunity for each child to engage.
All types of learners are welcome. Caregivers may attend with a child who needs additional support.
Will my child have a real business when they are finished?
We teach business skills in a fun, structured way. Some kids choose to launch their ideas after camp, but our focus is learning and confidence-building.
KidPitch teaches business skills in a fun, age-appropriate way. We are not forming legal businesses or LLCs. Our goal is to build confidence and future-ready skills.
What if my child already has a business or an idea?
We meet kids where they are at, and we welcome original ideas, real or imaginary.
Kids can bring their ideas to camp and use our workbooks and coaching to improve, test, and grow them. They’re also welcome to bring prototypes from home.
More advanced entrepreneurs can focus on refining their business plan, building their brand, and developing a marketing strategy. They may also take on a leadership role and share their experiences with others.
What types of businesses can they build?
Kids can create products, offer services, or build creative brands based on their interests. We help them turn their ideas into a structured plan.
Kids can create product-based or service-based ideas such as slime shops, art and jewelry brands, pet care services, lawn care, content creation, gaming channels, or other creative small businesses. We provide basic arts and craft supplies for building prototypes and help each child choose an idea that matches their interests and strengths.
